  • Using our files to train AI models or to create competing design libraries.
The license in plain English
  • For makers & businesses: Whether you’re an active CNCfiles.com member or you’ve purchased individual files from the CNC Files Brand, you’re licensed to produce and sell unlimited physical items made from those files.
  • Keep selling: Your commercial rights to any file you obtained from the CNC Files Brand—either during an active membership or through a one-off purchase—are perpetual for selling physical goods, even if you later cancel your membership.
  • Single seat: One membership = one user. 
  • No digital redistribution: Don’t share, sell, or distribute the digital files themselves.
  • Mass manufacturing: Planning 1,000+ units per SKU or retail with national distribution? Contact us for an extended license.
Detailed terms
1) What you can do
  • Fabricate, finish, and sell unlimited physical goods using our files across any production method (CNC, laser, waterjet, plasma, mill, etc.).
  • Make reasonable modifications, mash‑ups, scale changes, material swaps, toolpath edits, and functional tweaks.
  • Use in client projects and commissions; you must be the one operating or supervising the fabrication (no sublicensing the files).
  • Show process videos/tutorials featuring our files. Linking back to CNCFiles.com is appreciated.
2) What you cannot do
  • Share, resell, trade, or give away the digital files, modified or not.
  • List the files (or derivatives) as digital downloads on marketplaces or your own site.
  • Use our designs as part of a logo, trademark, or brand identity.
  • Upload our source files to print‑on‑demand / manufacturing portals as artwork (e.g., to let others order on‑demand).
  • Use our files to build or train AI/ML models or as seed content for competing libraries.
3) Membership & licensing scope
  • Scope: Non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, worldwide license to produce and sell physical goods.
  • Per‑file rights: Any file you obtain from the CNC Files Brand—whether through an active membership or an individual purchase—carries ongoing commercial rights for selling physical goods.
  • Seat limits: One membership per user. 
  • Contract manufacturing: You may hire subcontractors to manufacture physical parts on your behalf if they do not receive the digital files and only fabricate to your instructions.
  • Extended manufacturing: Contact us for high‑volume or national retail distribution.
4) Attribution
  • Credit is not required, but appreciated. A simple “Design from CNCFiles.com” goes a long way.
5) Safety & compliance
  • You are responsible for safe fabrication, testing, and compliance with applicable laws/standards. Some designs may involve sharp edges, small parts, or installation risks.
  • We do not guarantee fitness for a particular purpose. Use at your own risk and follow best practices for materials and tooling.
6) Enforcement & reporting
  • Licenses terminate if you violate these terms. We reserve the right to revoke access for abuse or infringement.
  • Report suspected misuse to business@cncfiles.com. Include links, screenshots, and order numbers if available.
Real‑world examples
👍 Allowed
  • You sell 250 wooden wall signs made from a CNCFiles.com design at local markets and on Etsy.
  • You customize a tray design by resizing, adding pockets, and engraving your client’s logo (logo supplied by the client).
  • You hire a local shop to cut parts for you; you do not share the source files—only toolpaths or drawings necessary to produce your order.
👎 Not allowed
  • You post our DXF/SVG files (original or tweaked) as downloads on your website or marketplace.
  • You send our files to a friend or Facebook group “so they can try it.”
  • You upload our art files to a POD site so others can order on demand.
FAQ
Do I need to keep my membership active to keep selling?

No. For any files you’ve obtained from the CNC Files Brand—whether during an active membership or through an individual purchase—you retain ongoing rights to sell physical goods made from them. An active plan is only required to download new files and receive updates.

Can I sell blanks or unfinished parts?

Yes—selling blanks (unpainted/unfinished) is treated the same as finished goods.

Can I use these files for lasers, 3D printers, or plasma cutters?

Yes. The license applies to fabrication across tools. You still may not resell or share the digital files.

Can I trademark a product I make with your file?

You can trademark your brand name or logo, but not our artwork or design itself. Don’t register our designs as your IP.

Do I have to give credit?

No—credit is appreciated, not required.

What about huge orders or national retailers?

For 1,000+ units per SKU or national distribution, please contact us for an extended license.
